ABOUT POTTERY CAMP

Pottery Camp is a special camp experience for 7-12 year olds that focuses on pottery wheel throwing and clay hand-building!  This was a camper favorite last year!

You can add Pottery Camp to your Fired Arts Camp experience or take them separately. Pottery Camp starts immediately after Fired Arts Camp each week so it is an easy transition for campers.

Activities include:

  • Pottery wheel throwing demonstrations

  • Lots of practice creating clay vessels on the wheel

  • Learn how to add a handle to your clay shapes

  • Trim and foot your favorite clay pieces

  • Clay hand-building projects

ADD ON FIRED ARTS CAMP

Add On Fired Arts Camp

Complete your Pottery Camp experience by joining our Fired Arts Camp! You can choose to attend both the Fired Arts Camp and the Pottery Camp or just one of them!  Most campers come for the full experience from 10 am – 2 pm.

Pottery Camp is from 1-2 pm and starts right after Fired Arts Camp which is from 10 am - 1 pm.  Fired Arts Camp meets inside the studio, then students meet for Pottery Camp outside under our covered Pottery Pavilion right behind the studio, so it is a seamless transition.

All Fired Arts campers will learn about a full range of fired arts including fused glass, ceramic painting, plus a clay hand-building and pottery wheel throwing experience.  They will also create canvas paintings, mosaic tile art and a group mural for our art fence!

While Fired Arts campers get to experience a wide range of art from ceramics to canvas, Pottery Camp takes an intensive approach to pottery wheel throwing and clay hand-building with more time to practice those techniques.

Camp Policies

Transferring camp weeks: If you aren’t sure which week of camp best suits your summer schedule, sign up for a week that will most likely work for you, and we can always transfer your deposit to another week as long as space allows and with written notice (artboxceramics@gmail.com).

Cancelation:  If you need to cancel your summer camp reservation prior to paying your full balance, we will offer a transfer of weeks or studio credit for the amount of your deposit if a transfer is not possible. If you have paid your full balance, and cancel in writing at least 7 days prior to the first day of your camp session, we will refund your payment less your deposit.  Please provide written notice by email at artboxceramics@gmail.com.

Drop off and pick up: Campers should be dropped off at Art Box Ceramics and Canvas 5-10 minutes before as camp will begin on time. Campers will be ready to go promptly at the end of camp, so please arrive on time for pick up.  If you are more than 10 minutes late, we reserve the right to charge a $10 late fee.  Each day, please walk into the studio to sign your child in/out with a staff member.

Behavior:  We strive to create an environment for fun and creativity during summer camp.  If your child’s behavior becomes inhibiting to other campers’ experience, we will address the issue with you and your child, but reserve the right to prohibit their attendance without a refund.

Photo release:  Art Box Ceramics and Canvas will take photos of your child and their projects to use on social media for marketing purposes.

Release of liability: By enrolling your child for camp, you are releasing Art Box Ceramics and Canvas and its associates of any risk of liability associated with your child’s attendance and participation in camp and other related activities.

How to Register

Space is limited:  If you aren’t certain of your summer plans, go ahead and sign up for a week that will likely work and we can always transfer your deposit to another week (as long as space allows).

Registering multiple children:  You can register multiple children at once since the deposit owed for all children is the same.  We will email you an invoice at least 7 days prior to the first day of your camp session to collect the balance due which will include the sibling discount.

Registering for multiple camps:  You will need to register separately for Fired Arts Camp and Pottery Camp.

Online registration trouble shooting:  The most common mistake is not selecting the start day AND time during the registration process.  Once you select the start day AND time, the system will highlight the orange button allowing you to proceed with the payment process.
