ART BOX is OPEN!
Our updated COVID-19 policies
Summer Camp | In-Studio Appointments | Adult and Teen Classes
Now there are even more ways to enjoy creating art with the ART BOX. We are excited to announce that we are open online, for private in-studio reservations and for summer camp.
Private Reservations: We have three separate studio rooms that are available to reserve for 2 hours for yourself or your family/friends unit (max 8 people). Studio room reservations are free, and our studio rooms are separated to limit co-mingling. Studio reservations are for paint your own pottery or self-guided mosaic tile art. An staff member will be there to help with tips and tricks while maintaining social distancing. Studio reservation hours are Tuesday & Thursday 12 - 8 pm and Wednesday & Friday 12 - 5 pm. Weekend, evening and morning hours are available by request. We will expand our hours as demanded.
Mosaic To Go Kits: We just launched Mosaic To Go Kits. These include a mosaic base, acrylic paint and mosaic tiles, plus all the supplies you need. Mosaic To Go Kits do not have to be returned to the studio for firing; this makes them a great option for shipping!
Pottery To Go Kits: We have more than 50 kits for children and adults available to order online and paint from the comfort of your home. Curbside pick up or front porch delivery is available within 1 hour of ordering during our regular business hours: Monday - Friday 12- 5 pm. If you order outside of business hours, your kit will be ready for pick up or front porch delivery by noon the following business day. Front porch delivery including drop off and pick up is offered for a small one-time fee for addresses within 10 miles of the studio and including homes in the Marvin, Cuthbertson and Indian Land school districts.
Kits include a brush, paint colors of your choice, Q-tips for making dots and a toothpick for etching designs into paint layers, plus instructions with pro tips for making a beautiful masterpiece! Some kit supplies vary based on the project.
Once you've painted your items, you can drop them off at our curbside location for glazing and firing. I will text you (within 2 weeks barring any further COVID-19 restrictions) to let you know when you can pick up your finished pottery.
Curbside Pick Up/Drop Off: Art Box is located inside of Eight Legs Gallery. We are in a large white farm house in downtown Waxhaw. Our address is: 310 East South Main Street, Waxhaw, NC 28173. We have a paved parking lot behind the Gallery off McKibben Street. Pull up to our covered parking area where a sign says "Curbside Pick Up/Drop Off". We have bins labeled Pick Up or Drop Off. The Pick Up Bins will have you order in them with an invoice on the front with your name on it. Please return your items in this same bag with the invoice, so we can fire your piece and contact you when it is ready for pick up.
Front Porch Delivery: Front porch delivery is available within a few hours of ordering during our regular business hours: Mon - Fri 12- 5 pm. If you order outside of business hours, your kit will be ready for front porch delivery by 2 pm the following business day.
Front porch delivery including 2 drop off and 1 pick up is offered for a small one-time fee for addresses within 10 miles of the studio in downtown Waxhaw and including all homes in the Marvin, Cuthbertson and Indian Land school districts. I will drop off your pieces to be painted, pick them up once you've painted them, then deliver the final fired pieces to your home for a small, one-time fee.
Kids and Adult Art Classes: For the month of May, we are only offering in-studio private reservations for individuals or family/friend units for paint your own pottery or self-guided mosaic tile art. On the first day of camp, the check in process may take a bit longer. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We will make every effort to collect all payments and paperwork ahead of time to avoid slowing down the check in line, and also to limit the amount of contact that we have with each parent.
